FIELD TRIP 03 | SIX FLAGS GREAT AMERICA

have i ever proclaimed my love for rollercoasters on here before? i LOVE them! i will never pass up a chance to take a trip to an amusement park. thankfully, we live only about thrity to forty-five minutes away from SFGA, and while my cousin and best friend lauren were in town, we decided to take the drive and spend a day at the park! and as aways, there's a film and lots o' pictures documenting our day!

we made it out of the house and into the car at around 9 a.m, allowing us to get to the park just a little after it opened. our first ride was raging bull, and in my opinion, it's the best roller coaster there! check out that drop!

each area of the park is themed a little differently. frontier land is one of my faves.

i had never ridden the giant drop before, (think tower of terror drop, only once) and i will admit, i was scared. you can check out our ride in the video! (it's around 1:09) it was so fun, we rode it twice!

checking out ride pictures :) ^^^

cousins cousins cousins ^^

after a good eight or so hours, we headed home, slightly dizzy and full of funnel cake. we may or may not have gotten lost on the way home... with the (only) driver being yours truly. we found our way though! and it added a little extra excitement to our already awesome day!

how about you? are you a big fan of roller coasters or do you just head to the park for the games and food? i don't think i'll ever stop loving roller coasters. have a great weekend! -m

WE STAYED UP FOR 25 HOURS

i almost made the title of this post: "they made me do it". not the staying awake part, but the posting about it. and no, we're not crazy. there's this thing called younglife, a christian organization for high schoolers, and every year they have this event called 7 to 7. you stay awake all night and drive around chicago stopping at sites like bowling alleys or pizza places.  the twelve hours plus the hours you've stayed awake during the day results in anywhere between 18-25 (!) the night consists of movies, trampolines, bowling, skating, pizza, god, and lots of tired friends.

 giordano's is always the best.

this crew was the "they" i referred to earlier. they're ok i guess.

lots of instax photos were taken throughout the night.

 kids these days.

oh, we also played bubble soccer. we'll say it was a new experience.

some of us fell asleep on the turf at about 3 a.m.

this sunrise was the finale to a pretty tiring night. we came home. and we went to sleep. the end. -m

THE APPLE ORCHARD

this past saturday, i drove down with the fam to go apple picking - a strongly held tradition in our family. we went to honey hills farms about an hour from our house, and got picking apples and snapping pictures.

they had the cutest dogs roaming around the whole entire farm, from the shop to the orchards.

i had to take a photo stop at that color-blocked wall. it had the perfect fall colors. and they also had a petting zoo with the tiniest little goats.

my outfit // "be awesome" sweater : old navy, boots: steve madden (similar), jacket: h&m (similar)
eventually we set down the camera and got to picking, but the trees were almost wiped clean! oh well. (and ugh that hair - frizz to the max)

the second of the two pups followed sam around the entire time. if sam stopped walking the dog stopped walking. vice versa.

to finish off the day, we grabbed a dozen fresh cider donuts. have you ever had them? they made the day complete, and i was o happy that we got to have another successful apple picking experience.     xo. molly
